Oil Is Little Changed After Drop on U.S. Fuel Demand Forcast
Surging oil prices and the faltering economy will lead to the first drop in summer gasoline use in 17 years, the Energy Department said.
``Oil-inventory levels are high, and U.S. demand is poor,'' said Kyle Cooper, an analyst at IAF Advisors in Houston. ``Demand is falling, and not slowly.''(Bloomberg.com)

Chevron Pushes Mexico to Open Oil Fields to Outsiders
Chevron Corp. submitted proposals to tap oil and natural-gas reserves in Mexico amid declining output from the second-biggest crude-producing nation in the Western Hemisphere.
Chevron, which triggered the Saudi energy boom with the 1938 discovery of oil in the kingdom, wants to make Mexico ``a big part of our portfolio,'' with Brazil and African producers such as Nigeria and Angola, said Ali Moshiri,(of Chevron) who oversees the company's oil and gas wells in Africa and Latin America.
